A radio prankster pretending to be U.S. President Donald Trump succeeded on Monday to secure an interview for himself on a prime-time show on Israel's Army Radio, mere hours before the real Donald Trump landed in the country. The prankster went on the air on a popular show hosted by Erel Segal, a right-wing host, who was fooled to believe that he is in fact interviewing the president.

The prankster spoke to Segal for 90 seconds, before the radio station's staff realized they have been duped. During the short "interview," the "president" expressed his desire to reach an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal, and expressed interest in the ideas of right-wing Israeli extremist Moshe Feiglin, a former member of Knesset for Likud.

Segal explained immediately after the incident that the show's staff received emails and phone calls from someone alleging to be a staffer for the White House, who offered them to conduct the interview.
