The woman filed a police complaint on Wednesday, claiming a man had raped her in a toilet stall in a nightclub in the north of the city. She said she was dazed and disoriented after he had given her drugs and after she had drunk alcohol, so could not remember the precise chain of events.
Police detained and questioned the 25-year-old suspect from the Sharon region in northern Israel. He is expected to be brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Thursday for the extension of his custody.
Last month 24-year-old Dalai Makata, a resident of the central Israeli town of Or Yehuda, was charged with raping an 18-year-old woman at Tel Aviv's Allenby 40. He was charged with leading the woman to the toilet area and pulling her by force into one of the stalls. The defendant has denied the charges.
Police shuttered the club for several days after the incident.
