Public Security Minsiter Gilad Erdan called on Israelis on Sunday to cooperate with the state in ridding the country of foreigners who support a boycott of Israel.

"If you have information about someone who is pretending to be a tourist but is in fact a boycott activist visiting Israel, let us know and we'll act to have him expelled from Israel," Erdan, who also serves as the minister for strategic affairs, wrote on Facebook.

As reported by Haaretz on Sunday, Erdan and Interior Minister Arye Dery have agreed to establish a joint taskforce that will work to prevent the entry into Israel of foreign activists from organizations that support the boycott of Israel.

The taskforce will also work to deport those who have already entered the country.

"We have an absurd situation today in which boycott and delegitimization activists arrive in Israel as 'tourists' and use the entire time they are here to agitate and incite," Erdan wrote on Facebook.

"They collect information about Israel, which they then twist and use overseas for boycotts against Israel. Does that make sense to you? Of course not," the post said. "This situation has to end. No country in the world would allow people to enter in order to harm it."

Erdan added that the proposed taskforce would "act to identify foreign boycott activists visiting Israel and return them to their countries." It would also act to prevent the entrance of such activists in the first place, he said.

Such activity, he added, is an "example of the need for a strategic affairs ministry that promotes the use of legal measures in the struggle against the delegitimization of Israel." He added that he would also be proposing changes in legislation to "upgrade the struggle against the boycott of Israel."
