IDF Retaliates With Strikes After Gaza Rocket Hits Children's Center in Southern Israel

Four Hamas targets were struck overnight in the Strip; the rocket also damaged a nearby building in the town of Sderot.

Israel Air Force hit targets in Gaza after a rocket was fired into southern Israel on Friday night.

The Israel Defense Forces reported that four Hamas targets in southern and central Gaza were struck overnight. Palestinian sources reported one light injury.

The rocket launched into Israel hit an early childhood development center in the town of Sderot. Nearby buildings were also damaged. No casualties were reported.

Earlier, rocket sirens sounded in Sderot and in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council. Both communities are located near the Gaza border.

The last rocket to be fired from Gaza exploded in an open area in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council on May 26. There were no reports of damage or injuries in the incident.
