The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court extended the remand of a left-wing activist suspected of being in contact with a foreign agent.

Haaretz has learned that the suspect was also investigated for additional charges, including assistance to manslaughter, conspiring to attempted murder, transferring intelligence to foreign agents, transporting an illegal migrant and drug abuse. It is not known which charges were brought before the judge, aside from the allegations that the activist was in contact with a foreign agent.

The court placed a gag order on the suspect's identity and details surrounding the case, fearing the investigation could be disrupted. Earlier, the police requested to hold the remand hearing behind closed doors.

The judge approved a police request to prevent the suspect from meeting his lawyer. Several complaints were filed against the activist in recent days. The complaints were transferred to the Judea and Samaria District Police and district commander Shlomi Michael, who assigned the investigation to the district's central unit.

Police forces arrested the activist Monday evening. He wasn't brought in for questioning prior to his arrest, nor was there a travel ban placed on him.
