The son of an American peace activist who advocated coexistence and who died this week following a Palestinian attack earlier this month says his father is the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit against Facebook for allowing gruesome Palestinian pages that incite violence.

Micah Avni said Thursday the lawsuit was filed in the United States by Israel-based rights group Shurat Hadin, days before his 76-year-old father Richard Lakin died.
Lakin was seriously wounded when two Palestinians boarded a Jerusalem bus and began shooting and stabbing passengers. He was a school principal and a 1960s civil rights movement activist in the U.S. before moving to Israel, where he worked as an educator.
The plaintiffs seek to ban Facebook from such postings, which Israel says have contributed to the recent surge in attacks.
