A soldier and a civilian were wounded on Tuesday afternoon when a car rammed into them in the Gush Etzion area of the West Bank.

The two men were lightly wounded, and the assailant was shot dead by a soldier stationed at the site.

According to an Initial investigation, a Palestinian man drove through Gush Etzion Junction toward Jerusalem and ran into the two men who were standing there. The car then hit a concrete barrier that had been erected at the site, and the Palestinian got out of his car with a knife in his hand. A soldier from the Kfir Brigade who had been stationed at the site shot the assailant, killing him instantly.

Magen David Adom paramedics that arrived at the scene treated a man aged about 20 and another aged about 30 who had been lightly wounded and took them to Hadassah University Hospital, Ein Karem.

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, an Israeli man was killed near Hebron when a Palestinian truck driver hit him by the side of Route 60. According to initial reports, the man had exited his car when rocks were thrown at it. The truck driver claims it was an accident.

On Tuesday morning, an Israeli soldier was lightly wounded when a Palestinian man stabbed him in the southern Hebron Hills.

Over the past month, eight Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks, most of them stabbings. In that time, 43 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire, including 22 labeled by Israel as terrorist attackers, and the rest in clashes with Israeli troops. An Eritrean migrant died after being shot and beaten by a mob that mistakenly believed he was a Palestinian terrorist.
