WATCH: Jews for Jesus Leader Blesses Donald Trump

Donald Trump has already treated us to some of the most bizarre video moments of the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign, but this one might top them all.

Now we can add another to the list: Trump, in his lofty Trump Tower offices high above Manhattan, receiving blessings from a group of 40 evangelical pastors and televangelist broadcasters in late September.

As Trump rather awkwardly clutched a Bible with both hands, the preachers laid their hands on his shoulders and arms. One by one, the preachers prayed for Trump, wishing him health, wealth and success, whether or not he is elected president - but especially if he is.

Two minutes into the prayer session, Messianic Rabbi Kirt Schneider, who was standing to Trump’s left, placed his hand on Trump’s face, fingers spread, and declared, “The only two nations that have ever been in a relationship with God are Israel and the United States of America.”

He then prayed that God bless the New York businessman, “for the sake of you, your glory, your kingdom, because of your love of Donald Trump.” After offering a priestly blessing in Hebrew, Schneider added, “Father, if you gave Solomon the wisdom to govern his peopleif you exalt this man to the highest office in this land, Father we pray for wisdom that you be Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Schneider is the host of “The Jewish Jesus,” an evangelical talk show on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). The show’s website describes him as “a Jewish believer in Jesus and end-times messenger of the Lord." He also serves as rabbi of the Lion of Judah World Outreach Center.

The group of preachers were invited to meet with the Trump as part of an effort to court “charismatic televangelists who believe God wants you to be rich," according to Politico.

"Still winning with evangelical voters but unpopular with their leaders, his campaign has begun training its outreach efforts on media-friendly pastors and advocates of the prosperity gospel...who are less turned off by his brash style and history of socially liberal positions.”

This strategy is designed to help him compete with evangelical sweetheart and rival Ben Carson, the other non-politician outsider who has been surging in the GOP polls.

Although the video released only showed the blessings, Politico also reported that the group talked politics with Trump and that their meeting was not devoid of criticism, particularly on the subject of race and that some “challenged Trump on his habit of personally attacking rivals and critics.”

One wonders what Trump’s daughter Ivanka would think of her father being blessed by Scheider. After all, following her conversion and marriage to Jared Kushner, Ivanka is an upstanding member of the Orthodox Jewish community which firmly rejects the idea of Messianic Judaism as having any legitimate connection to the religion.
