Abdel Bari Atwan told France 24 on Wednesday that Salafist groups in Gaza that "now is the time" to expect ISIS to become a major force in Gaza.

According to Atwan, the editor-in-chief of the Rai al-Youm website, Hamas is talking to Israel indirectly about a 10-year truce and Iranians are pressuring like-minded organizations to focus efforts on Yemen and Syria, rather than Israel, creating a vacuum that ISIS would be more than happy to fill.

Atwan adds that this momentum could very well carry to the West Bank.
