Five More Settlers Arrested for Attacking IDF Soldiers and Cars

This brings to eight the number of settlers detained this week on similar charges.

Five residents of the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar were arrested late Wednesday for their alleged involvement in attacking Israel Defense Forces soldiers and vandalizing their vehicles.

The arrests were carried about by forces from the Israel Police's Judea and Samaria division and the Border Police. The suspects - aged 16, 18, 23, 28 and 29 – were detained were questioning.

This brings the total number of arrests in Yitzhar this week to eight, including the two detained a few days ago on similar charges and a 16-year-old brought in for throwing rocks at police car s.

The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court has extended the detention of the 16-year-old until Sunday. The other seven suspects will be brought to the court for a hearing on Thursday.
