Eight Revelers Hospitalized After Outdoor Party in Jordan Valley

40 treated for injuries. Second party in Lower Galilee disbanded, organizers arrested by local police.

About 40 people were treated for a variety of injuries following an outdoor party near Moshav Roi in the Jordan Valley over the weekend.

Seven people were taken by ambulance to Beilinson Hospital, Petah Tikva, and Haemek Hospital, Afula. Another was helicoptered to Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, unconscious and intubated following a serious head injury.

Most of the others were suffering from dehydration, injuries of various kinds and overconsumption of alcohol.

The party, which started on Friday, was to have continued until Saturday but was broken up by the police. A similar party was to have taken place in the Mount Gilboa area in the Lower Galilee, but the Afula police informed the 300 revelers that they had no permit and ordered them to disband.

The party’s four organizers were arrested and the police confiscated alcohol and sound equipment.
