Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Suspected of Plotting Terror Attack

When the suspect refused to emerge from his home, troops opened fire with an M72 LAW and an anti-tank missile.

Israeli security forces early Thursday killed a wanted Palestinian man suspected of plotting to carry out a terrorist attack.

A joint force of a police special unit and a military infantry unit entered the West Bank town of Birzeit overnight and surrounded the armed militant's home, demanding he surrender.

When the suspect refused to emerge, the troops opened fire on the house with an M72 LAW and an anti-tank missile. The security forces then entered the building, and found the suspect dead.

During the raid, the security forces arrested two other Palestinians allegedly involved in terrorist activity and transferred them to the Shin Bet for interrogation.  The troops were met with rock-throwing by Palestinians, and responded with tear gas and stun grenades.
