Israeli Forces Kill One Palestinian, Wound Several Others in Jenin Clashes

Clashes erupt during Israeli operation to arrest wanted suspect in the West Bank city; Palestinians report six wounded, three seriously.

Israeli forces killed one Palestinian and wounded four others on Wednesday in clashes that erupted during a special arrest operation in the West Bank city of Jenin.

A special Israel Defense Forces and Israel Police force entered Jenin on an operation to arrest a wanted suspect and clashes erupted soon after between Palestinian residents of the city and Israeli soldiers, resulting in the death of 23-year-old Nafeh al-Saadi.

Palestinian sources said the forces zeroed in on the house of Palestinian prisoner Jamal Abu Al-Hija in order to search it. Palestinian youths that were in the area then started clashing with the Israeli forces.

According to the IDF, residents fired at the soldiers and threw makeshift grenades at them. One Palestinian was killed by IDF fire while several others were wounded.

According to the Palestinian sources, six Palestinians were wounded, three of whom are reported to be in serious condition.

No Israeli soldiers were wounded in the clashes.

IDF officials said that  there recently have been increasing signs of resistence in Palestinian refugee camps, which could explain the current violent outbursts.
