PARIS – French Jews relocating to Israel often cite antisemitism as the main reason for the move, and few know more about growing insecurity than Sammy Ghozlan, who heads the Paris-based group the National Bureau for Vigilance Against Antisemitism.

A retired police commissioner, Ghozlan, 78, monitors antisemitic and terrorist attacks against Jews, helps the victims and makes sure the media is fully informed. In recent years, though, he has carried out that mission from Israel, his home since 2014.
