Sitting on the fence about Ukraine is not a serious form of foreign policy, but Israel has apparently forgotten that the United States is a much greater ally than Russia
It is true that Vladimir Putin is the first Russian czar in history who isn’t an antisemite.
It is true that Israel – home to 1.3 million citizens from the former Soviet Union, many of whom came from Russia – developed a good working relationship with the Russian president. Not an interest-based alliance, not a values-based friendship, but a decent and effective working relationship.
