On January 20, in the middle of the Israeli election campaign, Joe Biden will take office as U.S. president. In the three and a half weeks until then, the possibility still exists for two exceptional events in the Middle East: a further escalation with Iran involving Israel and the United States, and a scenario that looks less probable: a breakthrough in Israeli-Saudi ties.
