Egyptian TV series during the month of Ramadan are creating a furor. “They're encouraging the abuse of women, their humiliation, battering and exclusion,” the Egyptian Center for Women’s Rights says.

Clips posted online include a scene in the series “Between Heaven and Earth” in which protagonist Hamid, a university lecturer, is talking to an attractive former student.
