The coalition of parties seeking to form a new government without Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party have hammered out an agreement on the assignment of senior cabinet positions if the coalition actually comes into being.

Gideon Sa’ar’s New Hope is expected to receive two other ministerial positions – for Zeev Elkin and Yoaz Hendel. Elkin reportedly wants to be Knesset speaker, but Yesh Atid has made clear that this position would go to one of their Knesset members, Meir Cohen or Mickey Levy. All told, the new cabinet would have between 25 and 27 ministers.
