On January 18, 1923, Ze’ev Jabotinsky resigned from the Zionist movement. That move led to the foundation of the Union of Revisionist Zionists, the movement that evolved into today’s Likud. In its 99 years, the movement has had only five leaders: Jabotinsky, Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Shamir, Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu.
