“With regard to my phone, the tradition continues – they’re listening,” Menachem Begin told the security cabinet in late 1967. At that point Begin was no longer the eternal opposition leader: He was a minister without portfolio in the unity government headed by Levi Eshkol. But he believed the Shin Bet security service was still tapping his calls.
