1. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is sticking with his relatively cautious approach to the Temple Mount and East Jerusalem. In 2015 and 2016, Netanyahu agreed to a series of concessions to Jordan and the United States in order to calm things down. He was forced to restrict the entrance of Knesset members to the Temple Mount, reduce the number of Jews entering the compound and repeat in his own voice the status quo in which Muslims pray on the Temple Mount, and non-Muslims visit the Temple Mount.
