The Israeli military banned contractors from sending Arabs as drivers to military bases during the recent round of fighting in the Gaza Strip, forcing them to miss work. This is contrary to claims that Arab drivers refused to come to work following the clashes in mixed cities during the escalation. Well-informed sources say the Israel Defense Forces allowed the smears against the drivers to be published for immaterial reasons that were related to budget struggles with the treasury.
