Israel continues to maintain an “honor system” for foreign citizens entering the country, granting them permission to fly based only on their word that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and without the need for documentation. 

An hour after Haaretz published a story Tuesday on the lax implementation of entry rules for tourists, the Health Ministry’s online entry declaration for passengers flying into Israel was shuttered due to a “technical problem.”
