Leah Wechsler feels both devastated and furious. Her parents, who live in New Jersey, had been booked on a flight to Israel on Tuesday – a day after the doors were slammed shut on foreign citizens in an effort to keep the omicron COVID variant out of Israel.  

It is the third time since the pandemic began about 18 months ago that they have been forced to cancel a trip to see their daughter and grandchildren in Israel.
