Five Jaffa residents were arrested Tuesday morning for their suspected involvement in the murder of Mohammed Abu Najm, a senior member of the northern faction of the Islamic Movement and member of the local sulha mediation committee, in Jaffa in January.

Abu Najm had no criminal record.

The five, four men and a woman, are also suspected of involvement in injuries caused to Abu Najm's nephew Kurdish Omar.
