The attempt to break up the Rabbinate's monopoly on the system for certifying kosher food is impressive, but there's still the feeling that decisions are getting postponed and slogans are being spewed
A leader without a real party or distinct electoral base is like a race-car driver without a car and a crowd in the stands. Legends from yesteryear, David Ben-Gurion and Yigael Yadin, suffered this as well. But politicians like Yair Lapid had the sense to consolidate a party, community and personal brand.
