In the week since the Gaza cease-fire was declared, it has been maintained scrupulously. At midweek a few bunches of balloons were spotted in the skies of the Israeli areas bordering the Gaza Strip and a few fires broke out in fields. The authorities insisted that the fires were caused by negligence, or by the warm air, and were not deliberately set. And the balloons? They were floated in a rally held by Hamas in memory of the shahids of the latest round of fighting. The residents of the communities adjacent to the Gaza Strip, who know the score, took the official explanations with a large grain of salt.
