Two Israelis were killed in a car accident in California on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry confirmed in a statement Sunday.

The accident reportedly took place on Highway 70, near Middle Honcut Road, south of Oroville.

The Israeli consul-general in San Francisco was dispatched to the site of the crash, the statement said. The official will help the families of the deceased connect with local authorities.

The Foreign Ministry also confirmed that an Israeli citizen drowned over the weekend in Cuba. The body was recovered by a suba diver and a local police officer. The family of the Israeli was informed.
