Four Injured, 19 Arrested in Brawl Outside Hospital in Southern Israel

Israel Police say four people were injured after a brawl started between two families outside a hospital in Be’er Sheva.

All four are lightly wounded although two of the injured suffer stabbing wounds. 

Police also arrested 19 suspects who were allegedly involved in the fight in Soroka Medical Center.

In a video that was shared on social media platforms, people are seen throwing rocks at each other. It was also reported that gunfire was heard.

The police is currently handling the matter at the place of the incident and is working to locate more suspects. 

According to the commander of the Be'er Sheva police station Tiran Yehud, the police were initially called to the emergency room. While the policeman were investigating the incident, another brawl broke out outside the hospital. 

"In this brawl there was probably a use of a gun, we have a number of finds in the arena being examined," he said.

Soroka Medical Center said no medical team members were injured. 

Dr. Shlomi Kodesh, director of Soroka Medical Center said in response to the incident that they "condemn and are concerned about the discovery of this severe violence that took place in the medical center."

He added "that It is crossing a red line, and we demand that vigorous action be taken to maintain peace on the hospital guests and staff."
