Also on Thursday, an incendiary balloon was found near Be'eri in southern Israel. No injuries were reported.

"Eshkol residents and those of the communities near Gaza have extraordinary responsibility. Our residents know how to identity incendiary objects that land on our turf, and act in accordance with life-saving instructions," Gadi Yarkoni, head of Eshkol, said.

In July, an incendiary balloon launched from Gaza landed in the courtyard of a kindergarten near the Gaza border. Children were reported to be in the area at the time, though no injuries were reported.

In September, the fire department had put out three fires near a southern kibbutz caused by incendiary balloons.

Reports of Gazans launching incendiary balloons into Israel have increased over the past months.
