Two Palestinians tried to run over Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint near the village of Ya'bad, west of the Palestinian city of Jenin in the West Bank, a military spokesperson said on Saturday.
According to the IDF, the vehicle was getting close to the checkpoint when the driver suddenly accelerated. It hit a soldier, but lightly enough that he did not require medical attention. There were no other injuries.

It was also reported that a firearm fell from the vehicle during the incident, which the IDF believes, the passengers of the car intended to use to fire at the soldiers. The firearm was identified by the military as a homemade 'Carlo' gun.
A search operation for the suspects was still under way, the Israeli military said, and checkpoints had been set up in the area.
