Assailant may have been wearing explosive belt ■ Israeli officer sustains moderate injuries

A Palestinian stabbed an Israeli Border Police officer between the settlement of Beit El and the Palestinian city of Ramallah in the West Bank on Friday afternoon. He was shot by Border Police on the scene and later died of his wounds.
The officer who was stabbed sustained moderate injuries.
Israeli forces are investigating whether the explosive belt the assailant was wearing was genuine. The assailant is suspected of pretending to be a journalist, approaching the officers and stabbing one of them.
Also on Friday, three Palestianians were killed and 290 were wounded in clashes that broke out in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem between Israeli security forces and Palestinians protesting the Trump administration's recent decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
