A Palestinian man was apprehended after opening fire on security forces at the Qalandiya checkpoint near Jerusalem on Tuesday night, with one civilian guard lightly wounded in the incident.
The 36-year-old man from Kafr Aqab, a neighborhood in northeast Jerusalem, fired several bullets from a vehicle at the forces, who returned fire. He then fled the scene, and was apprehended shortly afterwards near the checkpoint, according to Border Police.

Officers located his vehicle near the Atarot industrial zone and a Glock pistol was found inside.
The man was taken for questioning at the Shin Bet security service.
