A Palestinian man was killed and four were wounded during an exchange of fire with the Israeli army in the West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Wednesday morning.

Ahmad Msad, 18, from the West Bank village of Burqin, died after being shot in the head during clashes that erupted between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers from the Duvdevan counterterrorism unit who were carrying out arrests in the Jenin refugee camp. Dozens of Palestinians, the Israeli army said, opened fire at the Duvdevan force, torched tires and hurled explosive devices at the soldiers.

Three other Palestinians – a 16-year-old boy and two 19-year-olds – were wounded by gunfire. All three are in moderate and stable condition.

The army also said that two Palestinians suspected of terrorist activities were arrested, and that the soldiers posted a demolition order on the family home of Raad Hazem, who carried out a deadly attack in Tel Aviv three weeks ago in which three Israelis were killed.

The army added that 10 more Palestinians, all Hamas operatives according to the Palestinians, were arrested overnight in the West Bank.

Msad is the second Palestinian to have been killed by Israeli army forces in the West Bank within 24 hours. On Tuesday, 20-year-old Ahmed Ibrahim Oweidat was killed in clashes with Israeli forces in the refugee camp near Jericho, the Palestinian Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
