Police arrested a Palestinian man Friday near Tzur Yitzhak in central Israel on suspicion of planning to carry out a terror attack. The man was carrying a knife and a letter expressing his intent to commit a terror attack in Israel.

Police apprehended the man, a 19-year-old Tul Karm resident without an Israeli permit, after reports of a suspicious individual were made, and discovered the knife and the letter while searching him.

The incident took place amid growing security tension following the clashes that broke out Friday during the funeral of Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh who was shot dead on Wednesday while covering a military raid in Jenin.

Television footage from the procession shows Israeli forces striking with clubs mourners who were carrying Abu Akleh's casket.
