Man Suspected of Stabbing Ex-wife and Her Mother Dies in Car Crash While Fleeing

The 30-year-old’s car was hit by a truck in southern Israel after he fled south from Ma’aleh Adumim.

A 30-year-old man suspected of stabbing his ex-wife and her mother on Wednesday fled by car and was killed in a collision with a truck, police say.

The suspect is believed to have gone to the apartment of his ex-wife, who is 33, at about 7 A.M. in the West Bank city of Ma’aleh Adumim. He wounded her seriously and her mother moderately, both in the torso, police say.

One was taken by ambulance to Jerusalem’s Hadassah University Hospital Ein Karem, one to Hadassah University Hospital Mount Scopus.

The road accident took place on Route 31 near the Negev city of Arad; the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The police are still investigating.
