The wave of extremely hot weather in Israel is set to continue as the new week begins on Sunday. Both the country’s mountains and inland will be hot and dry, and the coastal plain will be warmer than usual with extremely high humidity.

Temperatures on Sunday are expected to reach as high as 33 and 37 degrees Celsius in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem respectively, with the southern resort town of Eilat hitting 43 degrees.

The sea will be rough with a wave height of about 160-170cm. The north-western to north-eastern wind will blow at a speed of 16-36 km/h.

The intense heat wave will also continue into Monday when the weather will be hot and dry. Only on Tuesday is the heat wave expected to subside. There will be a drop in temperatures and an increase in humidity, but the weather will continue to be warmer than usual for the season in the mountains and inland, and humid on the coast.

Wednesday will continue to be warmer than usual for the season in the mountains and inland, and the humidity on the coast will persist.
