A two-year-old girl drowned in a backyard pool and a second toddler was pulled from a lake and hospitalized in critical condition, in two separate incidents on Saturday.

In the first incident, the girl was presumably in the water for several minutes before she was discovered and pulled out by family members on Moshav Tlamim in southern Israel. A neighbor performed CPR while waiting for paramedics, who continued resuscitation measures. The victim was admitted in serious condition to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon and died some time later.

In the second incident, a girl also aged two, was rescued from a lake near Hod Hasharon and hospitalized in critical condition.
