An Israeli soldier shot and killed a Palestinian suspected of attempting to carry out a stabbing attack at Gush Etzion junction, south of Bethlehem.

The Palestinian was armed with a stick with three knives attached to it, the Israeli military said. No one was injured in the attempted attack.

The soldier who shot the Palestinian said he saw the suspect quickly approaching.

"I saw the suspect walking on the road, and he quickly moved toward me and some civilians there, and when I saw that he pulled out a knife, I shot and neutralized him," he said.
