The Israeli army said on Thursday that a launch identified from Gaza was an "internal blast" within the Strip, and not a rocket fired at Israel.

An earlier statement from the military said the launch fell in an open area near an Israeli border community and caused no damage.

Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that U.S. President Donald Trump invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his main political rival, Benny Gantz, to discuss the White House's Mideast peace plan next week in Washington.
