Customers of Israeli cellular company Pelephone reported Sunday difficulty making and receiving calls. Some customers began experiences the problem on Saturday evening.

Pelephone, one of the largest mobile network operators in Israel serving millions of customers, said that matter is being examined. The company did not, however, respond to questions regarding how many customers are affected and in what parts of Israel.

Work to upgrade the company's infrastructure affected a small number of customers last week.

Pelehone did not say when the issue is expected to be resolved. "We are working as fast as we can to solve the problem and return the service to normal," a statement said.
