An Israel Prison Service doctor examined Olmert and decided to conduct an EKG test for the former prime minister. The results weren't ideal and it was decided to send him to a hospital.
On Sunday, the parole committee discussed Olmert's request for early release and announced that a decision would be made on June 29. The prosecution opposed the request.
Ahead of the hearing, Israel's police raided the Yedioth Ahronoth publishing house to collect material from Olmert’s unpublished autobiography, on suspicion that the material had not been submitted to the military censor as required by law.
Olmert was jailed in February, 2016 to a sentence of 19 months on corruption related charges.
