The Second Broadcasting Authority has ordered the censoring of a commercial for Hoodies swimwear starring Bar Refaeli – Israel’s most famous model.
- Bar Refaeli's 'muppet' ad: Sexy? More like sexist
- Barred Refaeli: Muppet ad deemed too racy for prime time TV
- From right to left, Israel to Hollywood - everyone loves Gal Gadot
The authority is removing close-ups of Refaeli’s backside and a scene hinting at the Israeli being fully nude.
The edited ad will only be shown after 10 P.M. to prevent children from watching it. In the clip, Refaeli is cavorting on a beach; it was filmed two months ago when she was three months pregnant.
The commercial, produced by the agency Awesome, promotes the chain’s new swimwear collection. The uncensored version was shown last week on social networks and appeared in the ad banners of major Israeli websites.
Refaeli, 30, gained world-wide attention in 2009 when she graced the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue.
“The collection is a product of fruitful cooperation between the chain and Bar Refaeli, the promotional model.” Hoodies said. “To promote the collaboration, we created an advertising film in a fun, summery atmosphere. We regret that the Second Authority found that it hurt the public’s feelings.”
