An 11-year-old boy died Sunday afternoon in Holon after being run over by a bus while riding his bicycle.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene by a Magen David Adom ambulance crew that tried to resuscitate him. The police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
“The rider, an 11-year-old boy, was lying on the road unconscious with serious multiple injuries,” said Hadar Sa’ar, a member of the ambulance crew. The boy was without a pulse and not breathing. “We tried to give him medical treatment, but his injuries were very serious and there was nothing left to do but pronounce him dead at the scene,” Sa’ar added.
The bus driver was treated at the scene for shock, as were a number of passengers who witnessed the incident.
Elsewhere, a 30-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car and killed in Be’er Sheva Sunday morning, while a 20-year-old pedestrian was hit and seriously injured by a car near the southern entrance to Haifa.
Two people were in moderate condition after the motorcycle they were riding on had an accident near the Dov Hoz interchange on Route 20. Earlier in the day, a 60-year-old pedestrian was in moderate condition after being hit by a motorcycle in Kfar Sava, and an 84-year-old woman was moderately injured after being hit by a car in Ashdod.
