Kulanu leader Moshe Kahlon slammed the Likud party, his former home, for "abandoning the social path," and said that Menahem Begin, the Likud's founder, would have been ashamed to see the current state of the party.

8:12 A.M. Senior Meretz leaders slam Joint List for blocking surplus-vote agreement

Two key Meretz Party members, Chairwoman Zehava Galon and MK Issawi Freij, yesterday attacked the Joint List for blocking an effort to create a surplus-vote agreement between the two parties.

Such an agreement could have given the center-left bloc in the elections one or two additional seats in parliament. But on Friday, representatives of the Joint List — which includes the Arab parties and Hadash — said the party would not sign a surplus-vote agreement with any party.

By law, two parties can agree to combine their surplus votes. These are votes that a party receives but that are not enough to qualify for a full Knesset seat. (Yarden Skop) Read full story here
