Inter Tel Aviv traveled to Modi’in and earned its first win of the Olim League season with a tense 3-2 victory.

After Modi’in scored first, Inter Tel Aviv took charge of the midfield and controlled the game. A superb bicycle kick by Amir Szuster was saved by the Modi’in goalie, and then Szuster’s curving shot was hoisted off the line as Inter began to look dangerous. It wasn’t until the 35th minute that Inter found the equalizer. A free kick was given away just outside the Modi’in area, and it was Yossi Milhem who drilled the ball into the goalkeeper’s bottom left.

The home team began the second half in similar fashion to the first, piling the pressure on Inter. Sam, the Inter goalkeeper, was unable to keep out a powerful shot by the Modi’in left midfielder and the rebound was poked in from close range, resulting in Inter trailing behind for the second time in the game.

Inter dug deep and eventually got the equalizer. Martin Orson whipped in a curving free kick, which the Modi’in defense failed to clear. The ball pinged around the area until it finally fell to the head of Vitor Lansky, who bundled the ball over the line.

The visitors maintained the pressure and their third goal was delightful. The ball was picked up in midfield by David Schumann, who sent in a delicious cross that fell nicely for Emanuel Schultz, who volleyed the ball, first time, into the top right-hand corner.

Despite some late Modi’in pressure, Inter held out with some stern defensive work and earned a vital three points.
