At the end of Memorial Day this evening at 8 P.M., a festive prayer service will be held at the Western Wall.

The Jerusalem municipality will have 10 entertainment stages spread out through the city. A party for students will be held in the Mamilla Mall area.

The Secular Yeshiva will hold an Independence Day party in the Tower of David Museum, which is scheduled to last 12 hours. The program includes study circles, performances and parties. Streets in downtown Jerusalem will be closed to traffic Monday night for the celebrations.

In Tel Aviv, the Zionist Organization of America House will, for the first time, host a “Havdala” ceremony intended to mark the separation between the mourning of Memorial Day and the joy of Independence Day.

The Beit Tefilah Israeli congregation has organized the ceremony, which will include author David Grossman, philosopher Prof. Asa Kasher, singer Ehud Banai and Karnit Goldwasser, the widow of IDF soldier Ehud Goldwasser.

A special prayer book was written for the ceremony, which includes prayers, poetry and traditional and contemporary readings.
