Using the rubble-strewn landscape of Gaza as its playground, a local sports team, Bar Palestine, has brought a growing worldwide sporting phenomenon, known as 'street workout,' to the beleaguered coastal enclave.

'Street workout,' a unique form of physical activity performed mostly in outdoor spaces and that originated in New York, has now spread to Gaza, thanks to the Bar Palestine team. Formed in 2013, Bar Palestine's members perform chin-ups, pull-ups, handstands and assorted exercises amid collapsed buildings and other debris that litter Gaza City following last year's 50-day war with Israel.
