In the past ten years — even with two of those ten years blighted by pandemic — Meyer Real Estate has booked some 300,500 nights in Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Bat Yam, and Herzlia for over 13,400 paying guests.
“Our niche is short-term rentals,” says company founder and CEO, Israel Meyer. “We locate luxury holiday homes in central Israel for visitors, and we represent the overseas owners of those homes, generating for them solid market returns, while they relax as they earn”
Through recommendation and advertising, and via online platforms such as Airbnb, Tripadvisor and Expedia, apartment owners (usually domiciled in Europe) and short-term renters (usually from North America) seek out Meyer Real Estate.
“Our first task is ensuring that the needs of host, client and management converge,” says Israel Meyer. “The apartment, its locality, rental period and budget must all fit comfortably. Knowing our market extremely well enables us to do this very effectively. Clearly, visiting hi-tech experts have different needs from business visitors. Professionals are not looking for the same facilities as a honeymooning couple, or a family on vacation, or multiple generations coming to spend time together. With over a hundred high-end hundred apartments, from city centers to seashore, on our books — some with as many as five bedrooms — we can make premium matches.”
Making the match is only the first step. “We administer each property like a boutique hotel. Where necessary, we suggest to owners amenities they can add to improve the vacation experience of their future guests — and oversee the changes, if they want us to, thus improving occupancy rate and boosting revenue. We handle check in and check out, are responsible for maintenance, concierge services (cleaning, laundry and more), and are on hand around the clock to troubleshoot.”
The idea for the agency was born during Israel Meyer’s military service, where he served in a unit with responsibility for managing IDF property. “I enjoyed it,” he says, “so when I was demobilized I began looking around for rental apartment owners and assuring them I could offer a cost-effective service that would maximize their investment. I found one apartment, and then another, and then another. My business model from the beginning has been to take care of every step of the process for both sides, so that renters enjoy a first-class experience they will want to repeat, and owners will earn on their property without hassle.”
“It is a model that has ensured that Meyer Real Estate dominates its market niche. For five successive years, it has been recognized as an industry leader for the quality of service it provides, and it has been named an AirBnb SuperHost.”
