The British budget airline's plan to fly between the two cities won't be taking off because France's DGAC civil aviation authority has decided that the air traffic is too congested to make room for a new route, Globes reported this week.
It said easyJet had applied for the right to fly between Charles de Gaulle airport and Ben-Gurion International Airport three times a week, beginning this summer.
"EasyJet is very disappointed by the French civil aviation authority's decision not to grant it any traffic rights to operate between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Tel Aviv in Israel from summer 2014," the airline told Globes.
EasyJet said it reserves the right to appeal the decision.
El Al appears poised to reap the benefits. The Israeli airline announced Tuesday that it will be operating a fourth daily flight between Tel Aviv and Paris starting March 30. It will operate Sunday through Thursday and is geared toward families and tourists.
